Arc'teryx Alpine Arc'ademy - 14th to 16th June 2013

Last year Arc'teryx asked me if I fancied tagging along at the next Alpine Arc'ademy. I confess to some excitement about the prospect but the dates have not worked out for me this year. However, the event was a roaring success last year and this year, it proves to be even better.

The Arc'ademy is essentially three days of pure alpinism workshops and events designed for beginners and professionals alike, and all levels in between. It will take place on the Aiguille du Midi, high above Chamonix from 14th to 16th June 2013. Places are being booked fast so please, head over to the Arc'ademy website now to reserve your place on the workshop of your choice. There has never been a better time to learn alpinism at the hands of some of the world's best climbers.

Special guests include my favourite mountain photographer, Alexandre Buisse, but also world-classs climbers Will Gadd (recent star of the Bourne Legacy), Ines Papert, Nina Caprez and Arc'teryx's young Slovenian Arc'athlete Luka Lindic. There will be a round table discussion on "What is Alpinism Today" as well as an Alpine Move Night. Local mountain guides from the Compagnie des Guides will be offering advice and technical training as well. And you'll be able to see new demo gear from Arc'teryx, of course, but also Suunto, Scarpa, Petzl and Gore-Tex (to name but a few). It promises to be a great event.

  1. Some pretty colours there. No mistaking them.

Any ideas why Arcteryx don’t have drains in the zipped pockets?

    Most other companies do.
